A must is the Grassington Festival in the last 2 weeks of June - one of Britain's most successful arts festivals, mixing everything from poetry and comedy to string quartets.

Also, don't forget the famous Dickensian Festival - the 3 Saturdays in December - book early to avoid disappointment - 1st, 8th & 15th December 2007.
